I'm a designer and developer, and when I get absorbed in creating or building something, time has a funny way of disappearing. What feels like an hour is usually much more.
I used to start a stopwatch on my phone and then make a little note in my client folder. That worked—until the note disappeared somewhere in the project files.
I tried other time trackers, but most wanted more from me than I wanted to give them: project, task, category... I just wanted to start a timer, do my work, make a note about what I did, and have an accurate record when it was time to bill.
